Born in Seattle, Washington in 1980. Lived there until just shy of my 15th birthday, when my family moved to small town Forest City, NC where I finished high school. Was voted Most Likely To Succeed (Y Chromosome division). Two years of college at Toccoa Falls College in northeast Georgia. Left school to do a one year youth ministry internship at Church On The Move (COTM) in Tulsa, OK.
Stayed four years in Tulsa, finishing two years of internship in the youth ministry (Oneighty), and then two years on staff with Willie George Ministries, the final year as Senior Staff Writer for churchonthemove.com.
In September, 2005 took the Youth Pastor position at recently planted Church on the Horizon in suburban Memphis (now known as CityChurch of Olive Branch) and founded the662. I now serve as Youth and Childrens Pastor at CityChurch under the title Next Generation Pastor.
In December, 2008 I started dating Melody, a fellow former Oneighty Intern from Lancaster, PA. We got engaged in May, 2009 just after her graduation from Southeastern University with a Psychology degree. We were married November 13, 2009, and adopted our cat Homie a couple of months later.
The three of us reside in Southaven, MS.
